Why can I not smoke on the medication coumadin?

Why were you prescribed Warfarin (Coumadin)? Most potential if you're prescribed a "blood thinner" you are at high risk for clotting. In addendum, to making you blood thinner while taking this medication, stopping smoking will reduce the risk for blood clots. Smoking/nicotine constricts your blood vessel causing the lumen of your arteries to rigid. If you're at risk for clotting, smoking should be stopped. I'm studying to become a nurse, so I don't know all the answers even so, but for quick information try Medlineplus. Hope this help.
coumadin is a blood thinner, smoking causes your blood to go and get sticky, they cancel respectively other out.
