Why are karyotypes taken from white blood cell instead of red blood cell?

I asked a question close to this a while ago, but I worded it really badly. Sorry.
Mature red blood cell no longer have a nucleus. Therefore you can't karyotype.
All red blood cell are created by the division of stem cells including the division of DNA (genes) but the DNA is unwanted by the red blood cell to perform its function and is lost. Evidently white blood cell can provide DNA for forensic investigations. Skin cells also lose their DNA as they get the surface and become part of the unmoving horny layer through the process of keratinization.
