Why are antibiotics useless against animal virus infections?

Everything that everyone said above me. Bacteria and Viruses are very different. They respond to a different classes of medication entirely. Bacteria can be stopped from multiplying and can be killed. A virus can be stopped from multiplying but not kill by medications.
